| Robert Carani is a Chicago photographer and artist who received his BA in photography from Columbia College and whose work has spanned several countries over the past twenty years. Soon after graduation, Robert was applying and expanding on what he learned with high fashion and catalog assignments from clients such as Bloomingdales, Sears, Ulta Cosmentics, Carson Pirie Scott among countless others. Additionally, working at high profile firms such as Ambrosi and Associates, R & R Images and Silver Lining has also given Robert a leading edge in industrial and corporate photography. However, 16 years ago after his first trip to Puerto Rico, he found his true passion. Inspired by breathtaking landscapes, historical architecture and a culture that runs deep with pride these subject matters along with being inspired by moments in life, places and things unnoticed by busy lives that has motivated Robert to choose Puerto Rico has his muse. Robert’s multi-cultural photographs have been exhibited in various cultural centers including a permanent space at the AfriCaribe Cultural Center in Humboldt Park. Another large portion of Robert’s time in photography is spent choosing and printing his photographs; he painstakingly edits through thousands of images to find the right image to represent his views and than custom prints each one off of his large format printer. Using the tools of modern photography such as different film stocks, filters and digital enhancement; Robert captures the emotions of his subject and ensures that the image is printed in accordance with his vision. Working in both color and black & white, his photojournalistic style is modern and distinctive with a timeless, classical edge. Whether it’s a one-on-one portrait session, capturing the special moments of a wedding day or covering an assignment for a corporate entity or celebrity, Robert’s experience and personal attention combine to meet and exceed his client’s expectations. With a meticulous eye for detail and an expert understanding of the creative process, Robert helps clients transform their ideas into reality. Robert collaborates with photographers utilizing both clear communication and out-of-the-box thinking. He works diligently from project beginning to project end. Robert has the details covered, so that every finished image will be picture perfect. Robert also provides on-set services for creative professionals. These services include: digital capture, file management, RAW processing, creation of Photoshop compositions for layout, color profiling, retouching, workflow and computer network trouble-shooting.
